《美国新闻与世界报道》最新公布了2019年世界大学排名。这项排名从13个单项出发重点关注高校学术研究能力，考量论文和专著的发表及引用情况，并综合评估了各高校的国际和地区声誉。共有四所来自瑞士的高校入选前100名。其中，两所瑞士联邦理工学院位居前列，苏黎世联邦理工学院位居第25名，洛桑联邦理工学院则排名第40位。另外两所综合性大学——苏黎世大学名列第61位，而日内瓦大学排在第88名。
The US News & World Report issues the most well-known university rankings in the United States, where they’re still widely considered a major source of information for ambitious researchers and prospective students. The ranking shows indicators rating an entire institution as well as in individual subject areas. Both ranking types are based on the same 13 indicators, which are weighted differently depending on the subject area.?In Switzerland, only two higher education institutions achieved higher rankings (ETH Zurich at 25, and EPFL at 40), and UZH is Switzerland’s best-ranked comprehensive university, ahead of the University of Geneva, which was ranked 88th.?

UZH achieved an excellent overall rank of 61 worldwide and even came in 18th among European universities. The positive results are mainly due to excellent performance – when compared globally – in the following indicators.?Overall, UZH numbers among the 101 best universities worldwide in 10 of 13 indicators. The fact that these indicators focus largely on actual achievements in research underlines the high quality of scholarship at UZH.
